Honeysuckle Health Appoints Dr. Jagdeesh Singh Dhaliwal as Chief Medical Officer

18th July 2025

Honeysuckle Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jagdeesh Singh Dhaliwal as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

Dr. Dhaliwal is a respected General Practitioner and healthcare leader with more than 30 years of experience in Australia, the UK and internationally. His work includes significant contributions to aged care where he chaired Melbourne's expert advisory group examining the response to COVID-19 in aged care facilities, Primary Health Network leadership, and medical advisory roles with health technology companies. He has helped explore approaches to address some of the health system's most persistent challenges — from advancing digital health innovation and clinical governance to embedding virtual care into frontline service delivery.

As CMO, Jag will lead Honeysuckle Health's clinical governance and medical strategy. His appointment strengthens the organisation's focus on delivering measurable health impact through evidence-based programs, digital innovation, and trusted partnerships with funders, providers and health professionals.

"Dr. Dhaliwal brings the right combination of clinical rigour, system knowledge, and human-centred thinking to help Honeysuckle Health continue delivering value where it matters most," said Mr. Misael Valdes Triana, CEO of Honeysuckle Health. "His leadership will help us deepen the impact of our care programs and uphold our commitment to safety, outcomes, and transparency."

Honeysuckle Health provides a range of virtual health solutions supporting Australians with everything from everyday health to chronic and complex conditions, with the goal of improving both individual and population health and wellbeing, while also reducing unnecessary hospitalisation.

Its Hospital Support Program alone has achieved a 60% reduction in preventable readmissions and saved a combined 2,567 bed days in FY24, and its Injury Support Program has improved recovery timelines of participants by 20% compared to the Official Disability Guidelines averages^. Through its consumer-facing services, over 200,000 Australians have accessed virtual care, with more than 450,000 consultations delivered to date.

Dr. Dhaliwal is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and served on the editorial board of Australian Family Physician. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK), Honorary Senior Lecturer at Monash University and holds an MSc in Primary Healthcare Management (awarded with Distinction), and is widely recognised for his work in primary care leadership, quality improvement, and service design.

"Honeysuckle Health is creating an exciting future for healthcare in Australia, evidence-based, person-centred, and proven to make a difference," said Dr. Dhaliwal. "In an increasingly complex system, this kind of focus, which combines data, empathy, and clinical integrity is exactly what patients and partners need."

His appointment reflects Honeysuckle Health’s ongoing commitment to care, focus, impact, boldness, and transparency — and to reimagining health services that deliver value for individuals, communities, and the system as a whole.
